Possibly Spanish or Italian
Consisting of two joined sections. The upper section with an unidentified Saint, possibly St. Paul, holding a book, above St. John the Evangelist holding a serpent in a chalice; the lower section with the Virgin and Child above an unidentified saint, possibly St Bartholomew, holding a cleaver, and another saint, possibly St. Boniface, holding a book pierced by a sword(?).
Worked in couched and embroidered silk and metal thread on a ground of linen.
With losses to the silk and wear to the metal thread.
Now mounted and framed.
